Lisburn Distillery’s Under 20’s development team concluded their season on Saturday
when they lost 4-
In what has been a great first season for the team they managed to obtain runners up spot in the NIFL Development league a remarkable achievement which was recognised by the presentation of league runners up at Saturdays end of season awards ceremony at the club.
It's a fact, the team in white didn't lose the final game of the season! The reality is that it was Queen's who won – they wore white shirts – and it wasn't the finish we had all hoped for in the last game of the season.
In all our matches this season, Queen's have played some quality football at times
and none more so in the opening forty-
We had hoped though that we could finish with a bit of pride. I haven't apologised all year about any performance because I have taken responsibulity for them all but the players have to take responsibility for that, it wasn't what we planned – yes, the pressure was off us, everyone was in good form but it also means that we have to keep two feet on the ground and we have to do better, we have to be stronger and we have to improve. The discipline wasn't great today either, but in a nutshellwe went into the dressing room got the negatives out off the road and spoke of the positives this season.
And I can't thank the players enough; we started from scratch , we got a bunch of guys together who took a while to gel, they have put a lot of effort into the club with the backing of the club. And again I will say it that I can't thank the support and the club enough for what they have shown us – it has certainly gave me great thoughts for the future and I know that we have learnt form this season and will be hoping to build on it and bring into the quality of player that we need for this league and hopefully we will be in contention for promotion next season.”

Positive week for the club
In what was possibly one of the most positive weeks in years for the Academy and club in general we have seen the club take great strides both on and off the pitch.
On the pitch the under 17s had a clean sweep of Lisburn League trophies while the under 13s wrapped up their own double when the won the Supplementary Cup. Last Sunday in the first of our tournaments we fielded a under 7 team for the first time in the Academy's history.Tonight there was another first as our over 40s team played their first competitive games in the Back in the Game programme that is run by the IFA.
As we build for next season on Tuesday night we had the start of an under 6 team (2011). This seasons under 17 champions will represent the club at under 18s. This will mean we will have 12 age groups in the Academy, the Under 20 development team, the 1st Team and the over 40s meaning a total of 15 teams all wearing the white shirt of Distillery.
All this means we are still looking players, coaches and helpers for a number of
age groups, so if you are up for a new challenge on or off the field e-
